Connecting generations of St Catherine’s women
Established in 1898, the St Catherine’s Old Girls’ Union (OGU) has played an important role in strengthening connections between alumni and the School for more than a century. All former students who attended St Catherine’s for all or part of their education are invited to become financial members and remain part of this enduring community.
At its heart, the OGU is about connection, community and continuity. Generations of St Catherine’s women remain closely linked to the School, with more than 100 daughters, granddaughters and nieces of Old Girls currently enrolled. Through events, networking opportunities and shared traditions, the OGU helps foster meaningful relationships between past and present students while keeping our alumni community connected and engaged.

The OGU also plays an important role in supporting the future of the School. Through fundraising and advocacy, members contribute to a range of initiatives, including scholarships and school building projects, helping future generations of girls benefit from a St Catherine’s education.
One of the ways the OGU maintains strong connections across year groups is through its network of Year Representatives. Each year, Year 12 students may nominate to become an Old Girls’ Union Year Representative, helping their cohort stay connected with one another, the Union and the School after graduation.
Supported by the OGU and the School’s alumni team, Year Representatives play an important role in organising milestone reunions and fostering ongoing connections within their year group.
