Country Boarders

A supportive transition from country to city

For generations, St Catherine’s has welcomed girls from regional and rural Australia into our boarding community. We understand that moving to school in the city is a significant milestone, and we take great care to ensure every country boarder feels supported, connected and at home from the moment she arrives.

Through strong pastoral care, consistent routines and a welcoming boarding environment, girls are supported to settle into boarding life with confidence. Living on campus allows them to develop independence while remaining closely connected to their families, communities and the people who matter most to them.

I’ve lived in the country all my life, so it’s been really refreshing
to come to boarding at St Cath’s. There are so many opportunities and so many loving people in the Boarding House to look after you. I feel like I have gained a bunch of sisters.

Boarding also opens the door to a wide range of academic, sporting and cocurricular opportunities. Supported by caring staff and a close-knit boarding community, country girls quickly build friendships, discover new strengths and develop a strong sense of belonging.

Many country boarders tell us that our Boarding House is more than a place to stay. It becomes a second home, where they grow in confidence and independence while creating friendships and memories that last a lifetime.

Choosing the right boarding school is an important decision, and we understand that every family’s journey is different. If you have any questions about the enrolment process or would simply like to learn more about life at St Catherine’s, we would be delighted to hear from you:
