Our scholarships
Music Scholarship
Open to Years 7-11 students with a passion for music who are dedicated to their music studies.
- Applicants should have a high level of development, relative to other students of their chosen instrument. Please email the Music Department at music@stcatherines.nsw.edu.au for more information regarding this.
- Open to internal and external applicants.
- Full or partial tuition fees covered.
General Academic Scholarship
A general academic scholarship open to students in Years 7-12.
- Open to internal and external applicants

Fielding Scholarship for Academic Excellence
A means-tested scholarship offered to students in Years 7-12 who excel academically.
- Open to internal and external applicants
- Full or partial tuition fees covered
All-rounder Scholarship
A means-tested scholarship open to students who exhibit excellence in a particular performance area such as sport (state level representation) or drama as well as demonstrated sound academic ability.
- Candidates may be asked to audition in their specialist area
- Open to external applicants
- Full or partial tuition fees covered
Country Boarding Scholarship
A means-tested scholarship offered to students in Years 7-11 who live in regional Australia.
- Recipients of this scholarship must remain a boarder for the duration of their time at school
- Open to external applicants only
- Full or partial tuition fees covered with boarding fees paid by the family
Boarding Fee Relief
A means-tested scholarship offered to students in Years 7-11 who live in regional Australia.
- Recipients of this scholarship must remain a boarder for the duration of their time at school

The Faith Patterson Scholarship
A means-tested scholarship offered to students entering Year 11 in 2027 (current Year 9 students) who demonstrate academic ability, clear commitment to study and engagement in the life of her school.
- Open to internal and external applicants
- Scholarship covers up to 50 per cent of tuition fees for Years 11 and 12
The Jane Barker Scholarship
A means-tested scholarship offered to daughters or granddaughters of St Catherine’s alumni in Years 7-11.

St Catherine’s Scholarship
Open to a student entering Year 7 who has attended our Junior School from at least Year 5.
- Open to internal applicants only

How to apply
To apply for a scholarship, you first need to submit an enrolment application directly to St Catherine’s.
Please note, this step does not need to be completed by existing and waitlisted students, as well as those who have previously submitted an enrolment application form.
When scholarship applications open, please register with AAS by completing their online scholarship application.
Your scholarship application must include your daughter’s:
- Two most recent school reports
- Most recent NAPLAN results (for external students only)
- Any recent awards and achievements (if applicable)
Please also attach a 100-word statement written by your daughter in response to: ‘Why should I be considered for a scholarship’.
If applying for a means-tested scholarship, we require your family’s past two financial years’ tax returns and Notices of Assessment to be attached to your scholarship application.
Applicants may then be invited to attend a Scholarship Testing Day held by AAS at St Catherine’s School.
There are also remote testing options available if you are not able to join us in person.
Applicants for our music scholarships may also be invited to attend an audition at St Catherine’s School.
The results from the AAS examinations and auditions will be reviewed by the school.
Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to interview with with our leadership team.

Once the results from the AAS examination are released, we will contact shortlisted candidates for an interview.
At the conclusion of the interview process, successful candidates will be contacted with their offer of scholarship.
Parents have two weeks to accept the offer of a place. At this point, the place will be held for your daughter.

Terms and conditions
Our scholarship application process is conducted by Academic Assessment Services (AAS).
Applications open in October each year, roughly 18 months before the scholarships will be applied, and close the following January.
The selection process takes approximately three months and successful applicants are generally notified in May the year prior to commencement.
- Applicants must have submitted both a scholarship and an enrolment application.
- Scholarship applicants must be Australian citizens.
- St Catherine’s School Sydney will treat all documentation submitted by scholarship applicants in the strictest confidence.
- The scholarship examination will be conducted at St Catherine’s School or remotely if needed.
- An alternate scholarship examination date is not available.
- All applicants will be considered for a scholarship but may not be shortlisted nor granted a scholarship offer.
- All offers are awarded at the discretion of our Headmistress.
