It is our vision that Indigenous students have access to a high-quality secondary education. To that end, we have longstanding relationships with Indigenous communities and organisations to find ways for students to access a St Catherine’s education.
Many of our Indigenous education program recipients are also boarding students, who join our school community through our partnership with the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF).
Indigenous students have a dedicated member of staff who coordinates communication between them and their families, the partnership groups and our school staff.
It is vital that students feel settled and supported and remain connected to their community while living and studying at St Catherine’s.
Indigenous culture and heritage is celebrated at St Catherine’s School, with regular visits from local elders, workshops from community groups and school-wide celebrations for Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week.
Our first Indigenous scholarships were awarded in the 1990s, and our partnership with the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF) began in 2009. We work closely with them to provide places to Indigenous students who would like to board at St Catherine’s.
We also have strong relationships with the GO Foundation and the Moriarty Foundation and accept applications from these organisations on a case by case basis.
To apply for a scholarship, please print and complete the relevant forms, together with our enrolment application form.
Submissions should be made to our head of enrolments, either by post or email. Note that the enrolment registration/application fee is not required.
For further information or to resolve any query, please contact our head of enrolments.
Our Open Mornings allow you to immerse yourself into life at St Catherine’s. Hear from our headmistress and take a guided tour of classrooms, facilities and spaces to get a unique insight.
Open Mornings are offered four times a year and registration is essential.
Open Mornings 2023:
All at St Catherine’s School acknowledge the Bidjigal and Gadigal people of the Eora nation, the traditional custodians of the lands on which the school sits,
and we pay our respects to Elders past and present.
We extend this respect to the continuation of the cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
