We provide answers and guidance to some common questions.
We make contact approximately 21 months out from the waitlisted commencement year. We invite you to attend an interview, and we request various forms of material be made available to assist with the interview. This generally includes:
All students are requested to attend the interview ideally with both parents. The interview takes around 30 minutes and is conducted by either one of the Heads of Department or other executive staff. Families who are unable to join us in person may be able to conduct their interview via Zoom.
There is no need to prepare: our main aim is to get to know the student and family and discuss their educational and life experiences to date.
If a place is available, it will be offered shortly thereafter. Families are given two weeks to confirm and begin the enrolment process. We generally say that you will know if your daughter is attending St Catherine’s School about 18 months out of the commencement year.
We understand circumstances change and you are welcome to defer your position from one intake year to the next, however, any enrolment fee paid is non-refundable and non-transferable from one intake year to the next.
If you have not paid your enrolment fee and wish to defer your child’s place, a position for the deferred year will not be guaranteed and you will go back on the waitlist. It is likely you will need to re interview for the preferred year, especially if deferring from the junior school to the senior school.
We encourage all families to waitlist siblings as soon as possible. We offer enrolment preference to pre-existing families, subject to availability.
A discount on the enrolment fee applies for a sibling/s, subject to the other sibling/s being a current student at the school.
