Welcoming international students.

St Catherine’s is highly regarded internationally for its academic program, the results it achieves and its broad and diverse offering of its Beyond the Curriculum program. We want every student to be able to access this high quality education, and through it become women of character and discipline, with the moral and emotional strength to deal with life’s challenges.

As part of our commitment to this vision, we welcome international students who wish to study in Australia.

If you are thinking of St Catherine’s for your daughter, you may wish to appoint an education agent.

A registered agent understands the enrolment processes and procedures and can provide appropriate advice in your own language.

Frequently asked questions.

We provide answers and guidance to some common questions.

We recommend waitlisting as soon as possible as students are selected for interview based on date of application. The earlier you apply the greater the likelihood of being offered an interview. This also applies to daughters of Old Girls’ and siblings already at the school.

St Catherine’s in a non-selective school. Students are offered a place based on the following:

  1. Daughter of an Old Girl or Granddaughter.
  2. Sibling currently attending the school.
  3. Member of the Clergy and staff.
  4. Date of application.
  5. Re-enrolment of a student depending on circumstances and availability of a place.
  6. Daughters of families on international or interstate transfer from similar schools.

We make contact approximately 21 months out from the waitlisted commencement year. We invite you to attend an interview, and we request various forms of material be made available to assist with the interview. This generally includes:

  • Most recent two school reports.
  • Most recent Naplan results.
  • Birth Certificate.
  • Passport for overseas application.
  • Other material for overseas application.

All students are requested to attend the interview ideally with both parents. The interview takes around 30 minutes and is conducted by either one of the Heads of Department or other executive staff.

There is no need to prepare: our main aim is to get to know the student and family and discuss their educational and life experiences to date.

A student is generally offered a place shortly thereafter. Families are given two weeks to confirm and begin the enrolment process. We generally say that you will know if your daughter is attending St Catherine’s School about 18 months out of the commencement year.

We understand circumstances change and you are welcome to defer your position from one intake year to the next, however, any enrolment fee paid is non-refundable and non-transferable from one intake year to the next.

If you have not paid your enrolment fee and wish to defer your child’s place, a position for the deferred year will not be guaranteed and you will go back on the waitlist.  It is likely you will need to re interview for the preferred year, especially if deferring from the junior school to the senior school.

We encourage all families to waitlist siblings as soon as possible. We offer enrolment preference to pre-existing families, subject to availability.

A discount on the enrolment fee applies for a sibling/s, subject to the other sibling/s being a current student at the school.

St Catherine’s has relationships with various independent boys’ schools in Sydney including Cranbrook School, Coogee Boys’ Preparatory School, The Scots College and Waverley College.

St Catherine’s School accepts all faiths and those that have no faith at all.
