School governance

The St Catherine’s School Council is responsible for overarching school governance and for supporting the headmistress in enacting the identity, values and strategy of the school. It comprises lay and clergy representatives from the Anglican Church of Australia from which the chair and deputy chair are elected each year. The School Council appoints the headmistress and delegates the leadership and management of the school to them.

There are four subcommittees covering Infrastructure, Finance and risk, Governance and Christian ministry and each has its own charter of governance. Eight council meetings are held each year.

Together as a school, we acknowledge the continuing cultural relationships of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their unique rich cultures which contribute significantly to the St Catherine’s community and the lives of all Australians.
