It’s so nice to be able to go to boarding school and still feel so at home.”

Country to city

Sarah is a boarder from country NSW and has settled into boarding life brilliantly. She has taken full advantage of all the activities available on site and has made a huge contribution to the school in music, drama and sport.

Sarah represents the school in netball and water polo and has made the IGSSA cross country team for the last three years. As a talented dancer, Sarah has taken part in many school productions; a highlight was Suessical the Musical performed at NIDA Theatre.

Sarah strives to push her boundaries and loves to explore new cultures. She took part in the cultural exchange to Argentina and hosted her Argentinian exchange partner here at the boarding house and in her home town of Hilston.

As a talented singer and member of Senior Choir and A Capella, Sarah joined the ANZAC Tour of Europe, performing at The Hague, Arch de Triomphe and Westminster Abbey.

Sarah said “I enjoy all the opportunities available at St Catherine’s. There are so many opportunities to get involved, both in the school and in the outside community. There's Duke of Edinburgh and its volunteering component, Red Shield Appeal, and selling Legacy badges, I really enjoy taking part in all of these activities.”

“I really love life in the boarding house. My favourite part of boarding is that we are a really close community. Everyone in boarding is really nice and you can talk to absolutely anyone. It’s so nice to be able to go to boarding school and still feel so at home.”
