The Kids' Cancer Project is an independent national charity supporting childhood cancer research. Funds raised by Write a Book in a Day will go toward childhood cancer research to find better treatments and ultimately a cure.
14 Year 6 teams entered in the competition and successfully wrote and illustrated a picture book. Books have been donated to hospitals around Australia to support children undergoing treatment. What a wonderful opportunity students have to give the gift of a story to children. For many students this will be their first published book! St Catherine's Year 6 teams successfully raised $6837.
"A highlight of the day was drawing all the illustrations for my teams book. It was lots of fun and everyone did a great job." Margot (6Y)
"My team wrote a book about an avalanche. It was really fun working together and sharing all our ideas. I am looking forward to seeing our published work." Tilly (6O).
