Starring in STEM

Mothers, past parents and alumni working or studying in the fields of medicine/health, science, technology, engineering and mathematics enjoyed a 'Q and A' panel about all things STEM. Our fabulous panel consisted of St Catherine's mothers Sia Pisano, tech entrepreneur and chief operating officer of Elafent, and Sharmila Achar, general practitioner specialising in women's health, as well as former student Alex Denison, director of technology consulting at PwC.

Guests were also treated to a robotics demonstration from some of our senior students, who put their STEM skills into action. Computer support company AUP IT generously sponsors the school’s STEM program and supports initiatives including our participation in the FIRST Robotics Competition. Thank you to AUP IT and our panellists at this event.

The ‘Women in STEM’ event is part of the professional women’s networking program facilitated by the St Catherine’s Foundation. It brings together mothers and alumni working in similar fields. The program also incorporates events for women in corporate and creative careers.
