Year 6

All-rounder Year 6
In the past 4 years Ruby has been involved in rhythmic gymnastics, cross country, public speaking debates, guitar lessons, Trinity Drama, Junior choir, lunchtime art classes, mentoring younger students, dance...and the list goes on!"

Academic all-rounder

Ruby has a smile that can light up any classroom and her happy nature and mature outlook made her a stand out choice for the role of House captain. Ruby is a motivated student who takes her leadership role seriously, always finding inventive ways to help others and encouraging them to take part in activities.

House captains and prefects are voted in each semester and are responsible for helping with activities and organising events. Becoming a member of the Student Representative Council (SRC), a prefect or a house captain provides the girls with an opportunity to develop their leadership skills which includes having to navigate some tricky situations at times.

In the classroom Ruby is known as an academic all-rounder and she also explores her creative side through dance and Trinity Drama. She is always eager to be on stage and has performed in the Beyond the Curriculum (BTC) Showcase, Wakikiri and Junior School productions. She was thrilled to land a lead part in the Junior School Opera last year.

Ruby's talent doesn't stop there either. She also competes at state level in cross country!

Ruby's mother said "We like the 'local feel' of St Catherine's and the smaller year group allows the girls to shine in the areas they're interested in. Ruby has loved her class teacher every year and her teachers have always been interested in her successes and failures, and helped her to learn the life skills to deal with them. St Catherine's provides Ruby with an outstanding education and cocurricular options."
