Before and after school care

St Catherine’s Out of School Hours Care provides girls with space to play and learn, in non-school hours between 7.10am and 6pm. Overarching themes and topics set the scene for activities and students have freedom of choice to follow their interests. Sessions are inside and outside and allow for collaborative or independent play.

Continuing the learning

Students are encouraged to take the lead during the sessions, reflect on their experiences and to suggest activities they are interested in. We are always looking for that 'teachable moment' to help extend a girl's knowledge.

We strive to create a supportive environment for every child where they feel safe to participate fully. Activities are programmed for everyone to 'have a go' at learning new skills and they can choose to extend their learning in particular areas.

Supportive environment

Personalised care

We see after school care as a special opportunity to build skills and learn outside of the classroom rather than a transition between pickups. School staff utilise their individual strengths depending on the students in our care.

The Study Club program

Good study habits, time management and academic assistance is provided in Study Club located in our Junior School Library. Study Club offers Years 5 and 6 students a great opportunity to complete assigned homework and read in a supervised area.
