St Catherine’s is committed to reducing traffic congestion around the School and providing safe and reliable, environmentally friendly travel alternatives for students. With the support of Waverley Council, bus services provide a convenient mode of transport to and from School and encourages independence and relationship building among the girls.

St Catherine's provide subsidised private bus services to all St Catherine's students. There are three bus routes available to students.

Route 1: Taren Point
Suburbs: Taren Point, Little Bay, Malabar, Maroubra, Randwick

Route 2: Randwick
Suburbs: Kingsford, Kensington, Centennial Park, Clovelly, Randwick

Route 3: Maroubra
Suburbs: Pagewood, Maroubra, Maroubra Beach, South Coogee

Get a subsidy on your transport to School

The School Opal card eligible school students free travel on public transport between home and school on trains, buses and ferries, within the Opal network.​​

Who can apply?  

Students need to live a minimum distance from St Catherine's to be eligible for a School Opal card. The distances are as follows:

Years K-2 (Infants) No minimum distance.

Years 3-6

(Primary) 1.6km straight line distance or 2.3km walking or further.
Years 7-12 (Secondary)

2.0km straight line distance or 2.9km walking or further.​

The School encourages all students, and staff, to try whenever possible, to 'Go Green to School'.

In partnership with Waverley City Councils, staff and students will be encouraged to look for healthy alternative travel options through workshops. The School will look at supporting Green initiatives and road safety for 2016.

​​St Catherine's is pleased to announce that we are teaming up with Sydney Carpool (also known as Western Sydney Carpool) to provide a carpooling service for 2016. Endorsed by Transport for NSW, Sydney Carpool was the winner of the NSW Blue Star Community Environmental Achievement Award in 2015. Sydney Carpool provide a safe, practical way to share transport costs, reduce road congestion and vehicle pollution. The service offered will be a closed group for St Catherine's parents only.
