Through the Christian ethos of the School, we aim to provide students with ‘a living experience of Christianity’ - one that is informed, relevant and challenging. Students have the opportunity to learn about and explore Biblical truths and the central tenets of Christianity. Our Christian ethos underpins our school policies and practices as we seek to model Christ’s teachings, to love God and to love our neighbours as ourselves. This ethos shapes our commitment to each child and is expressed through our pastoral care.
Christian Studies is an integral part of the School’s Christian Foundation and is taught from Kindergarten through to Year 12. We have weekly Chapel Services and services for significant occasions and milestones in the life of the students and the School including: Holy Communion, Easter, Christmas, Year 7 Commencement and Year 12 Valedictory services. Parents and friends of the School are welcome to our Chapel Services.
To help support and nurture the faith of our community we have a team consisting of the Chaplain and her staff, who meet with interested student groups and individuals, lead in worship, teach Christian Studies and also maintain links with Christian social welfare projects, overseas and locally. Each year we have a Faith Focus Week with special activities to help the students consider Christ and a Christian life. There are additional Christian groups, including prayer groups for students and parents, Bible Study for year groups and a Chapel support group.
