Parents & Friends' Association

A strong relationship and open communication between home and school are the cornerstones of the partnership we have with parents. The St Catherine's Parents and Friends' Association actively promotes the interests of the School by bringing parents, students and staff into close cooperation.

The School's second hand Uniform Shop and the Deli which provides lunches and snacks for the school community are major initiatives managed and staffed by our Parents & Friends' Association.

Recent donations to the School include sports and outdoor education equipment, data projectors, play equipment, reading resources, digital cameras, a pottery kiln and an etching press, a new sound system for the Jane Barker Hall and interactive white boards for each Junior School Classroom. The Association has also financed the work of educational consultants to work with staff on projects such as Mathematics Education.

Membership of the Parents & Friends' Association is open to all parents of students attending St Catherine's and to anyone interested in the School. Members of the School staff are welcome to join the Association, and the Headmistress and the Heads of Department are automatically ex-officio members.

The Parents and Friends' Association works for the benefit of the School and raises funds to provide additional educational and recreational facilities for students. Their activities also provide an important social and education function for members.

In recent times, the Parents and Friends' Association has hosted an annual Cocktail Party for the School Community at the start of each academic year. Members have raised funds through Trivia Nights, a School Ball, the Magnolia Fair and other events, activities and stalls. The Parent Education evenings organised by the Parents and Friends' Association have supported our parents and have been open to the whole local community.
